Sara Arnold, M.S., CCC/SLP
Sara Arnold, M.S. CCC/SLP earned her Bachelor of Education degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1997 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She remained at Miami University to complete her Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology and graduated in 1999.
Sara has over 15 years of clinical experience working as speech/language pathologist, providing therapy to both adults and pediatric patients. She began her career working at Harborside Healthcare in Broadview Heights, Ohio, where she completed her Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). During her time in this skilled rehabilitation facility, she was responsible for providing speech and swallowing therapy (dysphagia) to adults with stroke, brain injury and dementia. Her role also included the completion of initial speech/language assessments upon entry to the facility, as well as collaboration with Occupational and Physical Therapists within the Rehabilitation Department.
She then went on to expand her clinical experience working for the Maple Heights City Schools. Her role in the district consisted of providing speech/language evaluations and therapy to elementary students with articulation disorders, apraxia, fluency impairments, language delays, learning disabilities, and multiple handicaps. Sara was also an integral part of the IEP team, and was responsible for assisting in the development of the ETR (Evaluation Team Report), writing individualized language based academic goals, as well as facilitating team meetings. During her time in this public school system, Sara was designated as the Auditory Processing Specialist for the district.
Once she began to raise a family, she worked on a PRN basis for Metro Health Medical Center. Her role at Metro was diverse, and her services included providing early intervention speech/language therapy in the Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, as well as working in both the Aphasia and Traumatic Brain Injury Inpatient Unit.
Sara currently works part time as a private contractor for Lake Ridge Academy (LRA) in North Ridgeville, Ohio. She provides speech-language pathology services for the LRA Lower School, which includes the administration of screenings, evaluations, and speech therapy. She is also a Certified Level 1 provider of the Wilson Structured Language Reading Program at LRA, which is a systematic, multi-sensory instructional approach to the development of literacy skills.
Sara resides in Berea, Ohio and is married with two daughters and a son, who are the joy of her life. In her free time, Sara enjoys running, practicing yoga, reading, watching basketball, and spending time with her family and friends.
