My Role at Linden BP:
I have expertise working with children and adolescents, ranging in age from 5-18 years, who are experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harming behaviors, behavioral concerns (defiance, aggression, lack of focus/hyperactivity), and difficult social skills. I highly value the involvement of parents during the treatment process as well as collaboration with school personnel. I have extensive experience training parents and teachers on behavioral management and de-escalation techniques in the home, school, and community settings. Treatment is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and involves attention to the mind and body for total self-care. Originally trained as an art therapist, I also specialize in utilizing art therapy when appropriate to help children and adolescents express issues and stressors that may be difficult to “put into words.”

Personal Passions:
“Stay the path” is one of my favorite sayings. I am grateful to assist children, adolescents and their families as they navigate their paths to reach their short and long term goals. I guide and support them through the unanticipated obstacles on life’s journey so they can experience personal success and discover hidden strengths along the way! In my own life, I “stay the path” by trying new things and participating in hobbies such as yoga, running, biking, hiking, painting and drawing. I also love to read books on just about any topic. I love exploring new places in the Cleveland area with my husband, friends, and two sisters (as well as with my 2 dogs!).

Fun Facts:
I am trained as a yoga teacher and have run in several half-marathons. My favorite half-marathon was the Disney Princess half-marathon! I always try to get my family out with me on hikes, walking, and other activities. Unfortunately, I am somewhat distance challenged, so my family knows that if I invite them on a “quick walk” it could easily turn into a three hour tour! But I make it up to them by baking cookies (my favorites are chocolate chip and Gingerbread).

Why I love being at Linden BP:
I am excited to work with such a dedicated group of professionals who want to provide high quality services for children, adolescents, and their families. I feel fortunate to be able to work in such a welcoming setting where patients are the priority!
